The City of Lyons Volunteer Fire Department is responsible for providing an efficient and effective delivery of fire and life safety emergency services within City limits. Emergency services are delivered from the fire station located at 319 East Main St. 

The Fire Department also strives to improve the quality of life for City residents by providing public education, code enforcement, and ongoing training for firefighters.
The Fire Department also inspects and monitors firework stands and displays. We provide training and scenario action drills to the Rice County Kids camp and USD 405 school system.

The Civic City Fire Department strives to provide quality public educational programs for people of all ages. Our current educational offerings include:

Juvenile Fire- Setter Prevention Program
Smoke Detector Program

National Disaster Preparation Programs
