Part Time/ Seasonal Officer
The City of Lyons Police Department has current openings for one police officer to work over the summer months. High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Requires graduation from law enforcement training center (K.I.E.T.C. Certification) and 40 hours of continuing education training annually. Must have a valid Kansas Driver’s License.

Potential Officers are required to be well trained in all areas of policing. A High School diploma is required as well as graduation from a law enforcement training center (K.L.E.T.C. Certification). This includes firearms and tactical training. All officers are required to complete in-service training each year as well as specialized training in areas including taser, defensive tactics, firearms, simulated firearms, and legal updates. All outside training is coordinated through the training unit. Officer Chris Detmer is the training coordinator for all training within the department.
